Memorial Weekend Marathon... Food that is.

I ate all this? Rubbing pudgy belly. K, started with Yakitoriya...
My fav was the liver skewer... so flavorful and Pâté-y.
Shrimp and asparagus tempura at Ikko.
Sushi porn... ewe-y.
Somebody had a birthday... the berry cake from Susina Bakery is so yummy... want more!
Brunch at the Kettle in Manhattan Beach... soon to be my new home town :)
Breakfast burrito... not recommended, where is the sausage? There was no sausage in the burrito at all.
Fortunately, my day was saved at Genwa. Look at the marbling of the Kobe beef... thank you Mr. Cow. God speed.
BBQ aftermath.

Bottoms Up!

Titanics on the house. Notice the chopsticks between the shot glasses and beer glasses... in lieu of the iceberg, the titanic actually ran aground on some giant chopsticks.
Cheers, cheers, cheers!
Bottoms up!
As for yours truly, while my pals drank up, I just wimpered and purred in the back, I am a scarity cat when it comes to drinks... makes me sooo sick. No no no drinks for me.

Pho of Phos

I present to you the Pho of Phos... Kobe beef pho at Noodle Guy, not to be confused with Noodle King (next door) or Noodle Boy, a few blocks away... boy, this was so yummy and the portion was huge! Btw, they have this secret sacha chili sauce that's outa this world. It combines two of my favorite condiments, sacha and chili sauce, another marriage made in culinary heaven.

Sweet Prince

Once upon a time, ok, like three years ago, L and I were strolling around the Eden Center, a strip mall in Northern Virginia filled with Vietnamese restaurants, hair salons, dvd/cd stores, when we came upon a poster for an upcoming star studded Vietnamese concert... Our eyes widened and jaws dropped at the sight of the star attraction... we could not forget him. Every time since, we have tried to track down this poster but to no avail... and finally! While laying on the couch nursing my nasty flu, I got an email from L with the subject line: I found him!!!!! And this is the attachment... ahh our sweet prince :)

Cat's Cookies

Meow peeps. Trader Joe's is carrying Princess Cat's very own brand of cookies, in her royal likeness too! Humans are kinda dumb, so I had to put up a note to explain that these cookies are for people, not kitties. Enjoy!

Governor Scumbag

We had this scumbag as governor for seven years? Yuck! For the record, I did not vote for the creep. Actually I did not vote period. Maybe Arnie and Newt and The Donald can run as a tri-umvirate ticket. Democracy is so over-rated :P

Rancho Palos Verdes

Wedding at Wayfarer's chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes... S, A and I were very tempted to crash the wedding, but alas, we are good little

Early dinner at Nelson's at Terranea Resort. The shrimp tacos were delicioso. A had crab cake sliders.

Friday Night

Stupid blogger. Deleted my last post, then put it back, but comments are gone. Stuuuupid. Princess Cat demands nothing but the best service. Hmph!

Mama Cat is going to China tonight. So the whole family is over at my pad, which is close to LAX, before we send her off on her 2am flight. Mama Cat and Auntie Cat are going to visit their 90 year old mother.

As for yours truly, I am working hard to get a loan to buy a kitty pad while listening to the song Baby by Justin Bieber. Always thought it was sang by a girl... had no idea it was Justin, lol, boy, he needs to get pass puberty.

Ah, life.

The Miracle of Apple

I gave my very much technology averse mom, nope she doesn't even have a cell phone, an iPad 2, and the next day, she started her own blog. Wow, this is a miracle. Thank you Uncle Steve.

White Men Can't Shabu Shabu

It was Saturday night and C asked me what I wanted to have for dinner, I blinked a few times, and said, shabu shabu! So we headed over to California Shabu Shabu in Fountain Valley... it's in a positively dilapidated strip mall, but the restaurant itself is modern and clean.
While our pots were boiling away...
I couldn't help but notice the confused look on this gentleman's face. He was obviously a newbie to shabu shabu and was not sure what to do... so he dumped everything, meat, veggies, noodles, into the pot at once. Aiyaya... proper shabu shabu etiquette is as follows: put some veggies into the pot, when water comes to boil, take one piece of meat at a time, shabu shabu in the boiling water, take meat out just as it is cooked, dip in sesame sauce, and savor the tenderness. Mmmmm... but alas, this gentlemen ended up with a pot of ramen noodle soup. Sigh, white men (with shiny heads) can't shabu shabu :P

Salami and Arugula Salad

... at Okiba in Century City Mall. Perfect light lunch for a hot day in LA.
