Happiness

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
Dance, like no one is watching you.
Love, like you've never been hurt before.
Sing, like no one can hear you.
Live, like heaven is on earth.

Cinderella

Wow, the Joffrey Ballet put on a great show tonight at the Dorothy Chandler... it was like tutus galore! You could tell they had practiced very hard, and I respect that. Bravo!

Here I am posing outside the Dorothy Chandler... k, k, this is J, she was Cinderella, and I was the evil step-sista!

DC Roundup

Just got back from DC -- where I crashed a party at the White House, hehe, and here are a few dishes at the state dinner. Roasted little bird... loved it. Nothing beats gnawing on crunchy birdie wings... not the most graceful thing, but eh, life is short, sometimes enjoying life is more important!

Steak salad ... nothing fancy, but the steak was nicely charred and the salad was fresh and not soaked in dressing.

Vietnamese red roasted pork -- it was the star of the evening. As much as I love Chinese red roasted pork, this one somehow seemed to have more complex flavors...

Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ

While watching TLC's reality tv show -- BBQ Pitmasters -- I started drooling uncontrollably and my arms reached out to the tender delicious ribs. Alas, so close, yet so far away...damn you HDTV! After running out of kleenex to wipe away my droool, I decided to brave the rain and venture out to the Porn Capital of America -- the Valley -- for some Texas style BBQ at Dr. Hogly Wogly's.

Huge plate of beef brisket, spareribs, beef ribs, all for less than $25!

Gone... but not forgotten, muahahahah!

Rae's Restaurant

I wish we'd all take more strolls around the neighborhood... I recently discovered this little gem of a restaurant close to my apt. It was fascinating watching the cooks complete the orders. They would work on five or six orders at a time, flipping omlettes, cracking eggs, stirring the hash, talk about multi-tasking!

Corned beef hash, eggs and potatoes... corned beef hash is yummy, one of the few redeeming features of English cuisine.

Breakfast burrito, only around 5 bucks! Can't beat that!

Scene from London

Along the River Thames with the London Eye(sore) in the background... What's with large cities' fascination with large ferris wheels? They are so ugly!

Snowy London

Overlooking Hyde Park, so pretty and romantic...almost like one of those old time European movies...

Night shot...

Brrr in London

So cold! So cold! But this pub sure is cozy and warm... I had all day breakfast for dinner (London)/lunch (LA)...

Fengmao Mutton Kabob

Mmm....yangrouchuan, aka, lamb kabob. Not as good as Beijing, decent for Koreatown.

End of an Era

Sigh, nothing stays the same... Thank you JS for being such a great role model for us. We will miss you! Update: JS is our beloved boss, and we are losing her to retirement. Now we feel like little chicks out there on our own... but like what she said to us at the end -- now, we have to be our own advocate. I have been very lucky in many ways and have been sheltered and protected from evil doers by parental figures in my life... but now I must be my own advocate and protector. Bye bye childhood...

London Weather Watch

May need to go to London for a meeting next week, seems like Europe just got blanketed by a blizzard... hmmm, maybe I'll do some snowflake catching while I am there... step 1, stick out my tongue, step 2, wiggle my tush, step 3, catch snowflakes!

Yes, sick, still sick...

Sorry about the lack of updates but I can't seem to get a break healthwise... first the severe allergic reaction, imagine my paws looking like those of the Pillsbury doughboy, then a severe cold, cough cough, sneeze sneeze, then upset stomach! Why?! Wah!! I need to do a cootie dance so that I can leave all the cooties to 09!

New Year's Dinner

New Year's eve dinner... steamed dungeness crab, sauteed king crab legs, sauteed lobster tail... really wished my mom hadn't sauteed the latter two, I prefer steamed or boiled seafood (its natural flavor is the best). But alas, it didn't matter cuz Princess Cat had the worst allergic reaction ever a few days ago and seafood's off the limit to me. To top off the hives and rashes, I am also battling a nasty cold with probably the sorest sore throat ever...

So here is my New Year's eve meal, sniff sniff... Ricola and Sucrets and I are like BFF!
